- The Tennis season got off to a start with tournaments at Abu Dhabi, Delray Beach, and Antalya.
- The Australian Open had a slight hick up with the quarantine hotel, but was able to find an alternative one and the Grand Slam is still due to start 8th of February.
- Dayana Yastremska was provisionally suspended for anti doping violation from November 2020. She has vowed to fight the suspension and charge.
- David Ferrer decided to part ways with Alexander Zverev, no longer coaching him.
- Roger Federer in fact pulled out of the Australian Open, not because of his injury, but the Melbourne quarantine rules. His wife did not like the rules and at the end of the day he decide he could either stay away from them for 4 weeks and play Australia.. or stay in a hotel room in Australia with them… or stay home..
