Number 1 seed Nadal was shocked 4-6 5-7 in the Semi finals of the Paris Masters yesterday by a red hot Zverev. Zverev finished Nadal’s winning streak, while continuing his own to 12. It seems the Paris Masters title will have to wait for at least next year. Zverev will meet Daniel Medvedev in the final after dispatching Raonic 6-4 7-6. The big serving Canadian missed crucial break point opportunities in the match, which really hurt him.

Raonic said. “He was a lot more efficient at creating his opportunities.”

Even though he hit 12 aces, it was not enough to get him over the line against the Russian who seems to find a way to get impossible balls, naturalize points, and then go on the offensive.

Who will win the final? Zverev leads Medvedev 5-1 in the head to head… but they have split their last 2 matches… so it seems it could be anyone’s game. Medvedev hasn’t had the year that most were expecting after such a solid 2019.. but he is definitely finishing this year in style.. Meanwhile Zverev, despite all of the off court drama he is currently dealing with is maintaining composure on the court with some very strong results to finish off the year. There is no question that Medvedev will make Zverev play a lot of balls…but if Zverev serves well, plays aggressive and maintains composure, the German should win.
