31 year old John Millman had reached 2 ATP finals in his career and it was a case of 3rd time lucky when he took out the Astana Open in Kazakhstan. He will now move into the top 40 in the world. This win put a big smile on the Aussie’s face after years and years of physical Tennis and fierce competitiveness.

Millman started off 2020 this year in great form and nearly knocked out Federer. I was lucky enough to be at the night match featuring the Fed Express and Millman and it was quite a performance by Millman. He was not missing and playing a really high level of Tennis with Federer having no answers for him. Fed somehow found a way to win though. As as Aussie I was kind of torn, as I wanted to cheer for Millman.. but I was also watching the masterful Fed play. One absolutely gifted athlete vs a hard working physical journeyman in Millman. I think most Tennis fans around the world would know Millman as he always puts in 110% in each match. Pretty sure they would all be feeling happy for him to finally lift a winners trophy as well.

With the win Millman will move into the ATP top 40. He is clearly happy to finish off the year with this win and said

We wish Millman all the best for the rest of the season and will see him chasing down every ball again at the Aus Open 2021 no doubt.
