Top Female player contracts COVID

World number 2 Simona Halep announced today that she contracted the virus and has mild symptoms but is recovering well. The 29 year old announced through twitter that she is self isolating and feels good.

Alexander Zverev – off court news

The world number 7 had 2 bits of personal information surface this week which he address. The first was that his ex Girlfriend, 27 year old German model Brenda Patea is 20 weeks pregnant with his baby. Zverev confirmed the news, and confirmed he had no plans to share custody of the child, but that “Together we will take care of the little person that is about to grow”

The 23 year old also addressed the accusations of another ex girlfriend, Olga Sharypova who said that he was violent with her in NYC. He said “We had a relationship, but it ended a long time ago. Why Olga is making these accusations now, I just don’t know.” Australian Tennis player Daria Gavrilova showed her support for Olga with a tweet “Good on Olga for opening up. It would have been pretty scary! I just hope that she can handle all the negativity and what’s to come next”.

Djokovic loses for just the 2nd time in 2020.. apart from his US Open Default

The world number 1 suffered a suprise loss at the indoor Vienna tournament to Lorenzo Sonego. The Italian is ranked 42 in the world and allowed Djokovic just 3 games in the 3 set match. Djokovic acknowledged the flawless play of his opponent while also stating that he did not play well. The only other time that Djokovic has one just 3 games was way back in the 2005 Australian Open.
